The City of Pleasant Hill and the Fourth of July Commission have again invited the Diablo Valley College POPS Band to be a part of their celebration. The band is under the direction of Maestro Monte Bairos, Coordinator of Instrumental Music and Director of Bands at Diablo Valley College. Maestro Bairos is a veteran of many such performances. He has performed as a trumpeter, percussionist, bassist and trumpet soloist during his 15 year stint with the Stanislaus POPS Band. DVC POPS Band features musicians from the school’s acclaimed Instrumental Music Program.
The concert format is based on the famous Boston Pops July 4th Concerts held at the Hatch Shell in the Esplanade area along the Charles River. The culmination of the Pleasant Hill’s Independence Day DVC POPS Band concert celebration will be an exciting fireworks show accompanied by music from the band.
